Tesla Supercharger Open to all ---contactless???

My wife and I share Tesla membership. While she has an iPhone, she hasn’t installed the app yet. I need the app as I travel longer distances and use them regularly.

I kick off the charging once she texts me the charger number and I text her when it’s at 80% and that she needs to return to the car, she texts once more when she’s ready to pull the plug so I can terminate the session. Sometimes I’ve been overseas and remoted it on and off for her. No bother.

We have a subscription for 2 months of the year - Aug & Jan., we always use the app., as its never let us down. - for the pat 18 months never needed another network (nearly 40k miles on the MG4 now - 97% of time at home overnight charging.)

I was literally gobsmacked when I found out what a phone and Android Auto can do. As these things improve and become integrated it might be possible to find chargers as well without leaving that screen.

It's also possible to run ABRP on the AA screen if you have a paid subscription, which I don't have, so I don't know how well it works. I don't know if its real-time traffic works as well as Google's does (that is to say, spookily well), because again that requires the subscription. I'm happy enough checking which chargers are available on my route in advance, and taking responsibility for finding something before it all goes pear-shaped. If it gets better though, I won't complain.

WAZE App is the one I use for mapping and directions. It is always up to date and can be edited by any Wazer ( I.E. anyone using it). It is also free.

I use waze also, but don’t find it too useful for EV charging (live). Apple Maps does seem to have some basic functionality, but I just find Tesla (open to all) the most reliable, as 100% success rate in 40k miles
