Text Messages.

On the SE SR, with the phone connected to the car, does the infotainment system display a received text message from your phone. Or does this only work with android auto?

My MG4 is showing a text icon in the top LH corner of the screen with an asterisk - suggesting a message of some sort somewhere - I have tried to access but no luck so far. Phone is connected by bluetooth but not android auto - keeps dropping out. Do I need AA connected to see text messages?

It’s likely a message relating to the vehicle. Think someone said before that it could be pressed, or maybe slide the screen down where icon is?…I’m sure someone with better knowledge of the system will confirm

I have the MG4 Trophy and there is an envelope with a red dot in the top right hand corner of my infotainment screen in the car - I can’t figure out how to access it - anyone else had this?

Someone mentioned in that thread that they found a message in the ‘user’ settings, wherever that is

Swipe left, select user, select message tab top right.

Got it - thanks - I had forgotten the LOG IN stage using the QR code - by the time I got there the messages had gone anyway!
