That's probably it. Also, on the motorway, I'm using the ACC and not having to do anything with my feet. Just sit back and steer.

Now I'm really baffled. On my way back from Oban, intending to charge in Stirling, I really was tired. I knew I was a bit impaired, I had to keep pulling myself back to alertness, but I wanted to get to Stirling and get the car on a charger before I stopped. I got there, connected up to the Osprey, but I only needed eight minutes so it wasn't worth leaving the car.

After I'd disconnected I moved off the charger and parked up by the pub and ordered coffee, because I knew I wasn't fit to go on. A cappuccino and croissant later, and a couple of chapters of the book I was reading, and I was good to go.

But I still never saw that coffee cup alert.

I’ve had a similar experience, where I decided I wasn’t fit enough to continue without a break, but the car never gave me the alert. The light exists on my instrument cluster, as it comes on when the car starts up and shows me all the things it can warn me about. It would be interesting to find out exactly what parameters the car monitors for this and what the thresholds are.

I now officially do not have a clue. The times I drove for more than three and a half hours without a break I was telling myself, well, I didn't feel tired, maybe whatever is supposed to trigger just didn't trigger. But on the way home from Oban it was warm and I was definitely sleepy and if that didn't trigger it, what would?
