Hello, I started getting an error message that limits the performance of the electric motor. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of this error message, which appears on a small display, because it only appears for 2-3 seconds and then disappears, along with the red battery warning icon. This has happened to me twice now. I don't remember what it said because it's in a foreign language. Has this happened to anyone else? Thank you for your help.

If the red battery icon is still present then you should be able to pull up fault messages via the right side of the driver display. (Cycle through the options for Trip meters, Pressure readings, Display brightness etc. ... it's in this last screen you should be able to scroll around to find fault messages). That might help identify exactly what the message said.

There have been aa couple of cases of power loss/restriction reported on the forum, but it's not a common thing.

What is your state of charge?
What exact MG4 model do you have?
What model year?

The icon always disappears immediately with an error message. But the engine performance was still limited. It didn't matter whether I set the driving mode to ECO or SPORT. At the time of the error message, the vehicle had 37% battery power.

Perhaps it was this message: Engine Fault – consult handbook. Hopefully, I'll be able to take a photo of it sometime so I can show it to the MG service center. The model is a 64kWh Luxury 2022.

Usually error messages show beneath the image of the car on the tyre pressures screen. If there is a down arrow below the car, pull the right joystick down and you’ll see the message. Make sure you haven’t ‘locked’ into that screen though, otherwise all you’ll do is lower the radio volume.

@Diggsy, if you select and display the fault message screen all the time will it show the fault immediately when it occurs?
Don’t think you can, as the arrow option to move down to the fault screen is only there if there’s an active fault to view. If there’s no active fault, your screen will just show the image of the car with tyre pressures
