Traffic sign Recognition

Mine is hopeless whatever it's using. I just disable it. The thing shows national limit dual carriageways (70mph) as 60, national limit single carriageways (60mph) as 40. Waze, on the other hand, is correct all the time (so far at least).
Since I got SC077 (or at least, it's since then that I've noticed it), when mine encounters a NSL sign it now shows the speed as 3 dashes. Previously it would show 60 regardless of the road type.

Mine is as hopeless as the rest - and it definitely does not use the nav data, at least while not using the onboard nav. I never use the onboard nav so I can't say if it would when it is enabled.

It reads the speed from map data whether nav is one or not.
Mine doesn't. The speed goes blank if it doesn't see a sign with the camera and the nav off.
If it were reading it off the nav it wouldn't go blank.
If it were reading off the nav it wouldn't show this, misread by the camera, as a NSL when I'm in a 30mph zone.

I have the MG4 ER and when I use on board sat nav I often have the satnav telling me one speed limit and the drive dash screen a different one. Mine certainly does not use the sat nav data at all for the speed recognition displayed speed limit. And yeah, mine is as useless as everyone else's, though it's slightly less useless since the SC077 update.

Maybe this is yet another feature that behaves differently based on the different combination of software across the various ECU modules? MG really need to sort out their act when it comes to software. I bet no two cars on the road have exactly the same combination of software. When you take in to account the number of ECU modules and the number of software versions for each one the its a very big number of possible combinations. Does anyone believe they have tested every possible combination?

Mine sure is camera only too.

The good thing about the cluelessness of the visual sign recognition is that it is at least one system I do not have to worry about MG trying to collect date about improper use of the car to deny warranty.

My Trophy on R33 does not use map data for speed limits. I use the Satnav and often there is a difference particularly in residential areas where the camera sees the 20mph limit for side-roads.

My Trophy (LR) seems to use a mixture.

On joining a motorway it knows it is 70 without any signs.
There is one main road near me the council reduced the speed limit from 40 to 30 ( then a year later took down the reminder signs and started parking the road safety piggy bank on that stretch).
The car reports the limit at 40.

I don't take a whole lot of notice due to the other issues with the sign recognition - not being able to recognise a NSL dual carriageway, picking speed limits of turn offs instead of the main road.

My previous Kia relied purely on sat nav data and was frequently wrong as well.

Mine's on R33 as well and doesn't use map data.

Are there other visual clues to denote that the road is a 30 limit? (e.g. suitable spaced street lighting). If not then the lack of repeaters may be illegal.
