Then you need to check if the pin at 12 o’clock has retracted completely. This pin is on the outer part of the charge socket coming down from the top of the car. Normally you will hear a solenoid Work when locking and unlocking the car. If you look at the plug you will see a square hole on the top where the pin locates to lock the in place when charging and the car is locked.
When the car is unlocked all pins are out no solenoid sound. All pins are out when the car is locked. Would an image help?

Solved the problem, it would seem the solenoid that controls the lock pit had jammed. I used a flat blade putty knife to gently push the pin up to retract it.
I then plugged in the car, locked it, and the solenoid worked locking the charge unit into place. Considering a little wd40 or the occasional wipe to remove any potential dirt build up.
