Using Tesla App and Chargers ?

Hi everyone
I wanted to set up the Tesla app to use as an alternative option with my MgS5 when out and about.
MG dont seem to be listed at all under other vehicles for charging. I understand that only certain chargers
are suitable for non Tesla cars and the app will direct you to the correct type.( please correct me if wrong).
I wondered if anybody has experience of using the app with an MG and Tesla charging.

....and so far with limited success. I have managed to download the Tesla app and create an account, but what do I do when I have done this? I can find nothing in any of the menus to enable me to set up a system of payment or to tell it that I will be using an MG4. Everything in the app refers just to Teslas. Am I missing something? Have I downloaded the correct app? Is there more than 1?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the pointer, having read through it seems quite a faff which is dissapointing.

I charged my MGS5 at the Tesla chargers on Anglesey a couple of days ago and it worked fine.

I just set the vehicle as other.

Tesla charging should just work and setting up the Tesla app is pretty easy, it will just want a credit card to charge payments.

Using it is easy: open Tesla app, select the right location and then select the charger number (eg "3A") and when it tells you just plug in and it should charge.

I use the Tesla app wherever possible, when travelling away from home. Itvs always worked on my MG4, but not tried yet on the MGS5. I don't anticipate any problems.

I set up as 'Other' , used Tesla last 2 months no problem. Get the £90 annual membership for Tesla pricing.

Just set it up as 'other'.
I signed up for 1 month to get the discounted price while on holiday.

Thanks for your answers. I needed the reassurance that it would work as intended. I have set up the app and will give it a go when I have a chance.

It does work, but there's been no word on why the MG brand was removed from the Tesla app!
It used to be, but was suddenly no more!
The work-around discussed here and on the MG4 thread works just fine, but like you, I have yet to try it on the S5.
I'm sure it should work ok.....

It's not just MG that has been removed from the Tela app. BYD, Seal and other Chinese EVs have also been removed. There's speculation its to do with America banning Chinese software and hardware.
