V2L cable not working on MG ZS EV (merged)

MG ZS EV 2022 Trophy Connect - 2 V2L adapters tried. One is known to work on MG4 EV.
One cable has 427 ohms and the other 676 ohms

Does anyone have a genuine MG V2L: cable and used on an MG ZS EV? and if so could they report the resistance

Screens from car version etc

Should I perform a factory reset?

Car model

Firmware versions?

I tried with / without load

Afterwards I did have trouble starting and moving off. I had to turn off, get out lock doors, get in start , wait and then reverse. It does this sometimes after charging fails to go into drive or reverse.

Build year - There are a lot of cables labelled 2022-12

Bosch VCU also says similar. I've reached the 10 picture limit

UPDATE!! - Okay, I have received the official MG V2L cable, but it still doesn't work. There has got to be an issue with the car (or cars if other folk are having the same problem). My car is leased so I'll get in touch with the lease company. I wanted V2L for Silverstone F1 camping next...

Can you measure the resistance on your cable between PE / CC(PP)

Someone said that if the inverter has 1147314 it might mean no V2L. Not verified by any other independent means.

Hi all

The EVCC module in my 2023 ZS EV has a part number 11349836.

Could anyone kindly confirm that they have this EVCC module in their car and the V2L (VTL) function works.

i suspect yours like mine has incorrect unit fitted, causing V2L not to operate. you need to request correction by change of EVCC to a correct type 11505199, it is a known problem, of course a lot of people do not know of the function, so don't know if it works or not. MG for me were very helpful, there is also a software update to allow car to be locked when V2L works. Glenn

Hi Glenn. Which MG dealership did you go to to get this resolved? My local MG certainly aren't being anything but "computer says no" at the minute and I have my first camping trip of the month this weekend.

Hi, my V2L does not work. I have a very new 2nd hand MG ZS EV LR Trophy (2023 March, 23 reg), with the above 11473414 and 11209690 modules and I have tried 400, 600 and 2000 Ohm and none worked. My Entertainment System version is SW17-29176-1300R17. Anyone had their module(s) swapped by dealer for free and worked?

Yes, my EVCC (not the CCU!) was swapped from 11408732 to 11505199 for free, but only after a lot of back and forth with MG headquarters.

see that post above yours - there are some adaptors on eBay for about £20 and they are apparently different for 2022 and 2023 ZS models - don't know the details of it but I ordered 2022 for my model, they said I can send it back if it doesn't work (obviously if still as new and my postage). Might try that, you never know ?

Thanks, but I told MG Perth Scotland and my sales rep actually tested it with their cable and confirm my V2L function does not work, just want to know if they are still getting it fix for free as they say they are still dealing with MG HQ. I hope they can swap the module for free and does not come up with some excuse for not swapping it. I was listening to the live podcast last night and was temp to ask Miles but I was having dinner at the same time so I dinnae ask. I screenshot their website about V2L just in case they say ZS EV don't have V2L.

I tried to buy this adapter the other day off ebay for my 2023 MG ZS EV 51kWh Trophy model & they refunded my money within twenty minutes saying it will not work with my model

It has the discharge option on the infotainment screen.

I have actually bought a type 2 adaptor, a 15M 16A cable and splash proof double socket with a 2000 ohm "inside the socket" so I can swap it out and change it easier than opening the type 2 adaptor as most of them are one time push and hook type and impossible to reopen without some kind of brute force. Also I was told the ZS EV does not like the double socket one with a trip-out Circuit breaker button, say they don't seem to work, but I got that anyway in case I need a quicker "kill switch".

Hi, the dealership is Hendy Bournemouth, Wallisdown Rd . The actual connecter i am using is a small plug in chinese unit with a flap on the 3pin connection, there is not much in them appart from a resistor mine being 2k now, this instructs car it is a vtl, not charging plug, the resistor value advises max wattage mains output. Regards.

Hi Glenn. OK, so Bournemouth too far sadly, but to confirm, the MG service guys changed the EVCC to the one you stated above, and you changed the resistor in the discharge adapter yourself? Or it already had a 2k one inside? I currently have both a similar plug in like you have I think, and a more expensive evcables one with 5m cable and 2 UK 3-pin plugs with switches at the end. It is sold as an MG specific cable. Neither work, but I'm wondering if just changing the resistor would solve it, or if I still need the EVCC? Do you know where the unit is in the car or how I could tell which unit I have without taking anything apart?.
