It looks like it's about to get even more expensive after the 14th July from what I've been reading It's all linked to the Paris accord as such the UK mirrors & underpins the EU standards.
One paragraph jumped out

It's hard to overestimate the level of smug I feel when I leave my local Tesco and have to drive past their petrol forecourt after getting over 20 miles of free charge. I know we'll get taxed for something extra at some point, but for now it's pretty damned sweet.

Many years ago, I was up around Oban in my old pick up truck... £1.60 odds a litre for diesel. 99p for veg oil ? I filled up in the supermarket car park?

My Renault Clio diesel van always seemed to run smoother on Tesco vegetable oil before they put the oil price up.

Have you seen the price of that stuff lately? It's at an eight year high. Petrol was £1.29/litre at our local BP petrol station today as I went past. Petrol prices reach eight-year high

Something feels odd with that. I've had my car for a month, done nearly 1,400 miles and it's cost £40. And that was with several Instavolt charges. I'm not expecting the next 1,500 to cost as much!
