I think I’ve also only used mine twice in the 2 1/2 years I have had the car. I did take it (in the boot) on a recent weekend away, but didn’t need it. If one needed to use it frequently, under the bonnet would suit, simply because it’s nearer the flap, but I don’t think I, personally, would have attempted the fitting of a frunk.
I dont drive the ZS EV, it's my wifes car, but the car i AM driving is also an electric and i have 2 Type 2 cables with me at all times.
1 that is 2 meters long, in the Frunk where it is easy to get to, it is super convenient, both because i dont have to wrestle 5 meters of cable, when 98% of the time, only 2 meters is needed and because i dont have cable lying on the floor getting wet and dirty.
1 That is 5 meters long under the trunk floor for those seldom occations where the 2 meter is not long enough.
Why do i charge away from home.
Well the main office of the company i work for is located about 100 miles from my home, and they do subsidised charging, so their prices are generally lower than what i get at home.
Then we have some factories i visit when they need me to do something, again they have the same chargers as the main office so if i go there i always plug in and charge until i have enough to get home (In summer, i charge nearly for "free" at home because i have solar panels, in winter i charge to 100% if i have time).
Also...Sometimes i need to go 200 miles to a factory, but i stay at a hotel, then i can charge at their destination chargers (Cheaper than fast chargers) and have the car ready and at ~100%, ready for when i go home.
This way i very rarely have to stop to charge when i go somewhere.
