There are 2 ways of charging an EV - AC (called fast) and DC (called rapid or ultra rapid).
Most cars, including the MG have onboard chargers that have a maximum rate of c. 7kW so even if you try a 22kW (or faster) charge point the car limits it to 7kW.
If you try a DC rapid or ultra rapid and use a CCS plug the Trophy will charge much faster - up to around 140kW. Note that the maximum rate on DC is also affected by how full the battery is, temperature and a couple of other things.
