It will be interesting to hear what you think about the quality of MG/Chinese vehicles with your history of migration through what looks like an incremental "perceived-quality-of-marque" ladder.

Having gone from Citroen to Ford to BMW to RR to Jag to Merc it looks like a bit of a full circle going to an MG now; though I guess you weren't happy with the 1-series, X3 or iPace, keeping them for less than a year each.

To add a bit more context as well because my initial post might be a bit misleading.

Saxo VTR - very first car, kept for 5 years.
Focus ST - kept for 6 years.
Volvo C30 - kept for 4 years.
M135i - kept for 3 years.
M235i - kept for 3 years.
X3 M40d - kept for 18 months - sold for more than I paid for it due to COVID. Great car, though.
Evoque - kept for 6 years, only just got rid of it very recently but was never really convinced by it and future reliability worried me.
I-PACE - kept for 12 months, salary sacrifice car, got rid due to job change but a great car.
EQB - still have, company car.
XPOWER - newest addition. Loving it so far!

So the XPOWER effectively replaced the Evoque, even though they are completely chalk and cheese, but I’ve had a fairly broad variety of cars over the years.

What I can say is that I paid less for my XPOWER than I did for my M135i nine years ago. That represents terrific value for money.

I jumped at one of theae deals. Had the car for just over a week now and loving it. For the price I paid for a new one of these compared to what I was looking at. Which was a audi A5 about 5 years old. I think I made the right choice. Already have my new plate on it as well

Have MG just dumped a load of new XPowers on dealers, there seem to be a few brand new or low milage ex demos selling for around £25k. So would you go for a 1-2 year old XPower for just under £20k or spend the extra on a brand new one?

When MidGe was in having its first service in September, I noticed 2 X Powers for sale on the forecourt circa 25K each, delivery miles only. One in grey and the other in black.
D&G NHS Health and Social Care are running about in a fleet of MG4's, various models for SE to X power. I spoke to a couple of nurses and she said they squabble over who gets what before they set off on their good works in the mornings

Hendys in Poole have all the best IM deals in autotrader also, wonder if they are all genuine

We bought our x-power outright from them in 2024 - at the time the time they were easily the best price in the country.

On reflection they were also really supportive up until MG UK blocked the vibration rejection, so believe what they advertise is genuine.

Yep, dealers are really struggling for space for all the display models and demonstrators, so they need all the old stock gone asap.
