ZS EV full charge range dropped

Hi All

I own a 2022 ZS EV essence bought brand new, lately it started showing a shorter full charge range around 259-260 kms after a complete charge which used to be around 323-330kms ,

Could anyone shed some light on this ? Should i contact the dealership for a check up of software or sensors…etc

Range estimates depends on recent driving, environmental conditions and which drive mode is selected.

If the car recently did some high speed driving or cold/wet weather driving, then it will show a lower estimated range. Also changing drive mode changes the range estimate.

It never used to be like this since we first purchased it , only do short drives from and to work and once a while a trip to the city and back , because i don’t trust its range on highways as it chews range pretty swiftly

Always drive on ECO mode so no change with driving mode

Not sure if this is a warranty issue

How far down do you discharge the battery, before recharging? It might be it has lost the sense of where fully discharged actually is, so it is calculating distance from a lower capacity than the battery actually has ...... see if pulling it down to 10% capacity and driving at a slightly slower than normal highways speed makes the remaining distance start to go up rather than down.

Hi Prageeth, we have a 2021 MG ZS EV, we have never seen a range estimate above 255 kilometres. In summer the car gives us an estimate of 255kilometres or there about, in winter it drops to 239kilometres.
We live in a cold area. Maybe some software change happened and your car switched from imaginary world range to real world range.
There is no way our 44kw/h battery would give us more than 255 kilometres of range.

It depends on a few things. But clear the data on recent trips.

If the cells is balanced, recently i did a longer trip and did a few rapid charges and gave me more miles than normally i have even when i cleared the recent trips.
