Hi, tried searching and nothing seems to match or I've tried the suggestions. My ZS has stopped charging - my wall mount isn't currently working so we've been using the 3 pin charger and it worked fine last night, but this morning after.my wife used it it wouldn't charge. The blue light at the front is coming on and it says connecting on the car and app but it won't turn green and charge. I've checked and it isn't set for schedule charge and I have tried it on a couple of paid charging points and still get the same. I've also disconnected the battery, as seen that mentioned a couple of times, but still no joy. Just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions before I ring the local dealers. Its a 23 plate and the long range model (but not hybrid), if that is any use.

Mine is 23 LR. My problems were not related to car. I had two cases that charging did not working.

1. I changed charging percentage to 40% by mistake with old iSmart app. A touch would change setting unintentionally.

2. After 10 weeks not charging, Ohme EPod charger did not charge overnight with Octopus Intelligent Go tariff. I used max charge for 15 minutes like initial installation for charging working next night. It was second time this happened to me. First time was after 6 weeks abroad.

If it is not charging using either the on-board ac charger or a rapid DC charger, it seems likely that the battery has disconnected itself altogether which rather implies that the car would not work at all - can you still drive the car?
If you can, then maybe it is an issue whereby the electronics are not allowing the switch from discharge (ie drive mode) to charge mode, where discharge is not allowed. Thus maybe the main contactor is stuck or failed, or the control thereof has failed. I would ask the dealer to do a full restore of the software, or at lease interrogate the fault codes.

The car does drive, I'd driven it yesterday to a charging point to check if it was just my 3 pin charger that was the problem, and tried both a CCS and an untethered type 2 with my own lead (which worked on Friday at another site). I'd read on here about disconnecting the battery to "reset" the car, but that didn't solve it. Looks like a call to MG in the morning then - luckily we have another car and my wife and I both work at the same place!

Issue with corrosion or some fault in the charge port?
It doesn't look corroded and I've just tried again, still no joy - disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and tried holding the charger whilst in to see if that helped!

There does seem to be some crud in the top right pin hole there, the one marked CP. This is the main communication wire and if it's not making a good connection...

Maybe clutching at straws, but just in case... Mine would on one occasion not charge until (on a desperate whim) I removed the Apple CarPlay dongle from the USB port. Don't ask me what the 2 things have to do with eachother, but I had tried unsuccesfully multiple times and when I unplugged the dongle - bingo.

On another note, Waterstoney mentions above that he inadvertently set the charging limit to a low figure in the app (but you can also do this in the charging page of the infotainment system. You had not mentioned if you had checked this.

Good luck!
