Software updates have been using a hash to verify the integrity of the file. If anything is modified or missing a new hash is given and the update is not applied. This has been the case for years. If you do an OTA update and brick your car then you've got a problem and the blame game starts with did you do it correctly, was your internet connection disrupted etc. If the dealer does it then it's their problem and they can get support from MG.
There is one user on here who has a bricked car stuck on the ramps at their dealer because something went wrong with an update.
Im not being nelly negative but it would be nice to not to have ot go to the dealer to update bugs when lots of cars OTA update. Especially if they start charging.
