Straight away I noticed how much firmer the suspension was. Ticks all the boxes for me its how the car it should have been. No noticeable creaking like I get in my current MG ZS. Get down and have a test drive. I called them yesterday and booked one for today.
Glad you enjoyed your test ride, how long where you given, can I ask ?.
I have read other reviews that states that the suspension definitely feels "different / better" in some way, but they can not expand on how / why they make that judgement.
But generally, it is seen as doubtful, that the springs and shocks have been upgraded in someway.
There is a common view that because the car is carrying more weight ( HV pack ) then the suspension just makes the car sit lower and therefore feels more settled somehow ?.
I do have to support this theory, because when you see the Gen1 and the Gen2 models side by side, the Gen2 model does display a noticeable lower stance.
The space between the top of the tyre and the underside of the wheel arch is smaller on the Gen2 model.
I know that the tyre wall profile size has increased slightly, to "pickup" improved ground clearance.
This increase in tyre profile should improve the ride quality as well, but is this as a direct result of the extra weight I wonder ???.
I do have to agree, that on paper the Gen2 model does tick the boxes of about 95% of the items on the early adopters wish list.
The comfort 2 update on the Gen1 model, did offer a lot to address all the unnecessary "Bongs" to be fare.
Regarding the lack of rear interior lighting in BOTH models, I did see this as a really easy target for MG to gain a quick tick in box for this complaint to get sorted on the refresh model.
After all, the ZS EV is a five seater family car and now with the extra range, is even more attractable to a family with small children.
Loading children into the back, without the help of any interior lighting must be a real pain in bum.
An easy fix that slipped through the net ???.
What should have been a simple "Gravy" job, became victim to a simple school boy error !.
