    Are electricians ripping us off?

Octopus will supply and fit a Zappi for £999 (untethered) / £1049 (tethered) - anyone charging significantly more than that is pushing it a bit unless the install is complex/non-standard.

Good news for us, bad news for charger owners?

The retrofit requirement is only for rapid (50kW+) units. Any new installs over 8kW will need to comply Legislation is currently in draft though, isn’t law yet.

What can I get as a private sale for my ZS EV Exclusive?

I bought one from Paul Rigby MG in Longbridge for that price in September 2020, a load of other dealers were running the same offer and it had been running for a few months prior. Not long after, Vic Young in South Shields had a load of pre-registered ones for the £20,495 I mentioned.

What can I get as a private sale for my ZS EV Exclusive?

Only if the car isn’t as described - there’s a section on the website to enter any damage and it changes the valuation accordingly. Yes, they do pick up on everything, but if you declare it rather than hoping they won’t notice or it’s too minor then they’ll give you an accurate price before...

What can I get as a private sale for my ZS EV Exclusive?

They are. How much more than that were you expecting given they could be bought for £21,995 brand new for most of 2020 - and £20,495 for a pre-reg for a while, too.

Plug in and Charge like Tesla - Possible with the MG5?

I do think this will be possible - it’s likely to require pre-registration on an app though. Gridserve are working on this kind of “plug and charge” system for their chargers too and demonstrated it with a BMW i3 which certainly isn’t particularly modern or advanced.

MG ZS EV Owner shame on you

So you don’t actually know that they weren’t using the charger as intended, just assuming?

BP Pulse "going electric" with a petrol recharging van. What a joke.

“Some employees aren’t even charging the vehicles up” and “the majority never plug them in” are not the same thing.

BP Pulse "going electric" with a petrol recharging van. What a joke.

You’re assuming it’ll be used on petrol more than battery, I don’t see why that’d be the case.

BP Pulse "going electric" with a petrol recharging van. What a joke.

I don’t understand the hate for range extenders - it’s a perfectly viable way to reduce emissions. Used correctly it should very rarely need to be used on petrol. I guess they could’ve just stuck with their diesel vans that Polar used before BP acquired them

    Rapid chargers

Look for anything above 50kW - there aren’t loads but they are being rolled out. You can use any output charger, car will take what it can even from a 350kW unit.

    PCP change of dealer?

Anyone can settle the finance. You could even sell it to WBAC and they’d settle the finance and give you any remainder assuming there was some.

    Opinions on DC Home Charging

You can’t just buy one of those and rig it up, you’ll need to have 3 phase power in the first place and then no doubt get permission from the DNO to connect it. I don’t think it’s financially viable for most people

Things I'd like a bong for...

The only time I ever really noticed it on my ZS EV was when driving in a multi storey car park with the window down, it was very noticeable as it echoed around the concrete structure.
