Non-Tesla EV Charging

Not sure of the confusion here. There are loads of supercharger sites open to all. As others have said if you downland the Tesla app & absent registered a Tesla, the app knows you're non-Tesla HD will show the relevant sites. Add a payment card and off you go. Banbury, Stoke & Manchester Trafford Centre are ones I've used numerous times with no issues. I also joined the membership for £10.99 for a road trip and saved this during the 794 mile trip thanks to the increased discount. Overall saved £61 compared to using Gridserve.

Lakeside Telsa Charger.....all seems to be well!!
Took me a while to see where the number was......
Otherwise, happy days!
Charging as we speak!!

£11.61 for 27 kWh in 26 mins.

Cheaper rate at 45p per kWh .......

Better than Ionity's 79p......

From my chair, it looks as though Harrogate is the most Northern Tesla site for non-Teslas so far. I guess there will be more to convert, hopefully.....

Inverness is the furthest north at the moment (soon to be Brora)

This is the app you need.

There are certainly some north of Harrogate, I use the Purdey Lodge (Adderstone) chargers when going up and down the A1. I know other owners on here have used the M8 chargers and my map, as has been mentioned, shows Inverness as the most northerly at the moment.

I think the statement was in respect of lack of Tesla chargers (open to all), rather than there being a lack of any chargers. ;)

Agreed but there is only 130 miles between the two Superchargers mentioned which I would not regard as excessive and I read it as the OP thought he would need a charger somewhere in between.

Yes it was!
Well there are two other Superchargers between Harrogate and Berwick which are Tesla only. Both have V2 chargers which are 150kW shared bay (so only 75kWish if both are occupied) and it's possible that Tesla's data shows that there is not enough spare capacity to allow non Teslas to access. Indeed, on street view one of the two is shown with all bays full.

I'd like to say that we easily made it, from Adderstone to Harrogate🤔 - but it is possible!

.... indeed we did do the whole tour of Stratford-on-Avon to Fort William (via the west coast*) / Avimore and back down the east coast purely on the Tesla Supercharger network (* with a overnight stop off, at our main family home in the north lakes. - Just waiting for Gretna to come on stream, and then should be able to do it 100% ) - and this is with a basic LFP model in late Jan 24.

Arrived Harrogate aok....
Andover to Banbury 72 miles.
Top up charge at Banbury Telsa.
Arrived Harrogate Tesla charger with just under 50 miles left in the tank at 23%.
All good.
Despite some negative comments about the Harrogate Tesla, I got 130kW upload, and it does appear to be accessible 24/7!!
