A smoother method that I use instead of touching the brakes is to push the stalk away from you gently once (not all the way as that completely swithces off ACC), just enough to disable ACC and MG Pilot, then regen kicks in without having to touch the brakes. You can then pull the stalk back...
I've seen a couple of other posts about the charging port not opening, mine has been fine for over a year until last night I got home and it wouldn't open - this is on a 2020 model so has the port behind the MG badge.
Finally managed to free it this afternoon and can see some residual ice in...
Petrol station raises fuel price to nearly £3 per litre as shortages send prices soaring
Even if electricity prices go up still will be much cheaper than this!
It's odd as the first question I always get asked by anyone when they notice I have an EV (it never happens to come up smugly during...
Definitely a step up from google constantly just giving me the "here's an article on wikipedia I found about CCS chargers...." which seems to be it's standard response to any question I ask Google at the moment.

Direct from Apple for the princely sum of $29
https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MXLY2ZA/A/lightning-to-usb-cable-1m
Interestingly they charge the same price for the 0.5m and 1m cables.... but if you want a 2m cable they're after 45 of your hard earned dollars!
Or you could try Amazon/eBay...
If you've got an iPhone 12 Apple decided to no longer supply these phones with chargers. Also, they decided to move the goal posts again and supply a USB-C to Lightning cable which is not compatible with the chargers they have been using since 2007.
You used to get a standard USB-A to...
I got rid of the packaging which was just a papery/plasticy wrap saying "Morrisons ..... blah blah blah .... extension lead", standard Morrisons own brand with black text on white/grey background.
Here are some photos of the cable itself, only main difference I could see with the Masterplug one...
The masterplug extension lead seems to be out of stock wherever I looked, although I managed to get a similar extension lead from Morrisons - 15m orange cable, rated 13 amps with an IP54 rated plug.
However this one fits nicely around the thick lead of the granny charger cable from the ZS EV...
20°C "heatwave" - how very dare you! I'll have you know it was 28°C here yesterday, I was supposed to be playing cricket at high noon but we all decided it was too hot so sheltered in the clubhouse to watch the football (and partake in a few beverages).
When we emereged and started a T20 game...
Me too! (y)
InstaVolt price rise is due to VAT now being charged at full 20% instead of 5%
https://www.current-news.co.uk/news/hmrc-confirms-20-vat-rate-for-public-ev-charging
HMRC have clarified that VAT must be charged at 20% as opposed to the lower 5% domestic fuel rate, hence the price rise. InstaVolt had only been charging 5% VAT up until now - I recall reading somewhere that others had already been charging 20% rate of VAT and so shouldn't be raising prices...
Picked up our new ZS EV Exclusive on Friday which has replaced a 3 year old Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV - so far very impressed with the car.
Things I miss:
- Not having an app, being able to remotely defrost the car on cold winter mornings was nice, watching your neighbours scrape away at their...
@Evie thanks for the detailed notes on your journey. I've attempted to do some maths to work out your overall range and now my brain hurts, so I'm going back to bed.
From the photos the journey at avg speed of 99 km/h was showing 23.1 kWh/100km - which if we assume a 40 kWh useable battery...
Wondering if anyone here has any experience with long journeys in the ZS when using a roof box and what effect this has on range?
The faster you go with a roof box is going to have an even bigger effect on the overall range than without, but I'd like to get a feel for how big this effect is...
