MG4 Rear Brake Discs corroded, 3700 miles in, + bonus other issues

The law currently requires two separate means of braking, which is normally the foot brake and the hand brake (or Emergency brake for our US members). No chance that this would change nor would braking on one axle only be allowed.

    MG4 Undertray dip/bulge

Spot on. They are not listening to their customers or acknowledging their concerns.

    MG4 Heat Pump

Correct, MG UK deems that we don't need it despite the fact that they also control sales in the EU and sell the Luxury (Trophy) with the heat pump as standard and at the same basic price. And that includes cold countries like Spain.  Clearly we are not worthy. ;)

Locked in my MG4 & unable to escape - Serious Safety Issue

I would not be surprised if there are a number of vehicles delivered after that date without the update.

    Efficacy of Aero Wheel Covers

@Stageshoot was going to do that, but I can't recall seeing the photos. For Tesla M3 a figure of 2-3% at highway speed is quoted, and considerably less at lower speeds. Given how far recessed the MG4 tyres are I'd say it'll be less bad, and if you aren't always at 70+ it'll probably get to the...

Locked in my MG4 & unable to escape - Serious Safety Issue

That's fairly simple then - all cars sold to date.

MG4 SE vs MG4 Trophy Connectivity

Nothing. But it'll be a much lower data SIM, and possibly 3G for cost despite the imminent end date for that technology in the UK.

    MG4 Reduction Gearbox Oil Leak

And exactly when will deliveries to UK customers of these "improved" cars begin?

    MG4 Restricted speed - weird

@bowfer I admire your persistence. (y) But how much longer are you going to put up with a car that cannot maintain a core function such as the ability to go at the national speed limit? There appears to be no real support from MG to resolve this and they seem to just be stringing you along. It...

MG4 Should I get one? What’s the consensus from owners and those waiting?

Is that good or bad? Nissan actively targeted the Darth Vader look for the Ariya which is similarly plug ugly.

MG4 Should I get one? What’s the consensus from owners and those waiting?

You also need to look at Smart's record with EVs and their appalling lack of support for their customers when problems arise. MG look fantastic in comparison. :unsure:

What tyres do mg4 come with. And how do you tell if they are ev tyres or not

Really? Given the width of the tyres I'd have expected a low value. Is it because of the ultra low profile to protect the rims.

What tyres do mg4 come with. And how do you tell if they are ev tyres or not

Continental EcoContact 6. They are not EV specific but have a sufficient weight rating for the porkiness of the car and relatively low rolling resistance at the expense of outright grip.

    MG4 Reduction Gearbox Oil Leak

Blimey, when was it delivered - mid December presumably? Ours was manufactured 26/7/22 and was delivered 30/9/22. So it appears that they are delivering older stock now than at launch. I had hoped that they would be delivering models with improvements built in.

11kw 3 phase charging ion UK Trophy

Same logic would see the steering wheel on the left .... ;) More seriously a single phase unit would be cheaper and MG already produce one for the SR.

    LKA - disappeared!

It's got to be a fault as it is a required system for the Euro NCAP rating. I presume that it isn't just permanently enabled .....

    Car Rejection after 30 days

I think that you should name and shame praise the dealer concerned. They have done the right thing and will be out of pocket despite the fact that the real villains are MG UK (SAIC owned) and SAIC themselves. Like you I believe that the MG4 could be a great car but there are just too many...

    MG4 Reduction Gearbox Oil Leak

Agreed. Mine was one of the early supposedly "overfilled" cars. It leaked, it was drained and refilled to the reduced level and then leaked again. In both cases the leaks occurred after long runs on wiggly roads, and not after extended motorway cruises or shorter journeys.
