metallic
Metallic bonding is a type of chemical bonding that arises from the electrostatic attractive force between conduction electrons (in the form of an electron cloud of delocalized electrons) and positively charged metal ions. It may be described as the sharing of free electrons among a structure of positively charged ions (cations). Metallic bonding accounts for many physical properties of metals, such as strength, ductility, thermal and electrical resistivity and conductivity, opacity, and luster.Metallic bonding is not the only type of chemical bonding a metal can exhibit, even as a pure substance. For example, elemental gallium consists of covalently-bound pairs of atoms in both liquid and solid-state—these pairs form a crystal structure with metallic bonding between them. Another example of a metal–metal covalent bond is the mercurous ion (Hg2+2).
I've always wondered where the inspiration came for the modern MG colour palette.
My Mum said her Dad had an Austin in BRG (the old colour, solid green). I know Austin and MG were not related.
This was later reinvented in the 80s by ARG who brought out their metallic take on the old colour...
After much pondering (due to price) my Wife bought me an 8 piece set of sill protectors off Ali Express for my birthday in January. They eventually arrived via parcel force after 3-4 weeks and exceeded my expectations! This kit is made to measure & a perfect fit. It cost £71.00 but has since...

Good Evening,
Having just taken delivery of an MG4 Trophy in black I am a little surprised that there appears to be no metallic fleck visible in the finish. Has anyone else noticed this or should I make an appointment with Specsavers?
