Can a second hand speedo/driver display be encoded to my car?

Can a second hand speedo/driver display be encoded to my car? Greetings fellow owners and enthusiasts! I'm the proud owner of an MG4 XPower and really enjoying it so far after 3 months of ownership. When I bought the car I noticed the driver display had a small chip on the top and bottom...

First big road trip in the Turbo Tango 😀

Afternoon all, I'd been wanting to do it for ages but it was either being repaired or the work schedule didn't fall right but finally I was up for a trip to the office and the weather was suitable enough to do it. Working from home is nice but the time comes a couple of times a year to "show...

    ACC

Went for a bit of a trip today, up to Ipswich and back home. Generally am liking the Xpower. One thing did stand out though, the ACC is not as good as other systems I have used. A couple of times it suddenly decelerated due to a car approaching in the other lane. Then there is the drop in...

    Battery Balancing

When talking to the original owner he said that he had only charged above 80% a few times, and this was on a DC Rapid Charger when doing a longer trip. I imagine that means the battery has never been balanced. Today I hope to do just that. The sun is out today, so plenty of solar. Had to go...

    Tyres....recommendations for replacements

I've done a search on the forum, but anything X power tyre related is spread all over the place. So, 20k miles in the last 12 months, and the rears are nearly worn down to the wear bars (Is that usual? Sounds about right to me). The fronts have a fair bit more left. I'll probably do front/rear...

    Undecided on the XPOWER

Hi all. Been lurking for a while but just joined as I’m close to purchasing an xpower. Long story short - have v expensive jap cars at the moment, absolutely bullet proof and pure luxury. Want a cheap EV purely for cost (fuel) saving and to stick some money into investments when I sell existing...

Warning light added to show when the brake lights are on.

Why? you may ask, well there has been so much discussion about when, and under what circumstances the brake lights come on, so I wired a small light into the brake lights to check for myself. I found this so useful that I've now made it a permanent feature in my car, I just glance in my rear...

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tyres

So got some new boots fitted last week to the minty goat - went for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tyres. So thought I'd give some feedback. The previous tyres were Michelin e-primacy (fitted by the dealer at 600 miles to help with the vibes and they were were sooo much better than the terrible...

Got my XPower on the 29th of August

Just signed up here. My lovely Mazda XD Astina was recently written off. While this was very upsetting it was 11 years old, so maybe getting into unreliable territory. Earlier this year it was also involved in an incident where the left side was wiped out by a Tesla 3 towing a heavy trailer. I...

    Rusty brake disc hub fixed

Hi, these have been rusty for some time because they are just bare metal I think? So I decided to clean, treat the rust and then paint. I think they look better now 👍👍

    Occasionally won't switch modes

Sometimes when I come up to a junction in custom mode (which I have set up for everything eco) and stop, I want to change to sport mode to get away from the junction. But it won't let me change mode (Only tried from steering wheel button). As soon as I start moving, it then allows it. Doesn't...

    Spare wheel on the Xpower

I see on the main MG4 forum there is a thread around fitting a full size spare in the boot, I've seen various space saver spare kits advertised on Amazon and Ebay, but has anyone put a spare in the Xpower? Is there room to fit one under the boot floor?

    In praise of my XPower

Not here much these days but would like to record the fact that my (racing?) green XPower continues to deliver. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it since I took delivery in Q3 2023. Still love the styling. The power doesn't get old. I use it as a local runabout, rarely going more than 40 miles...

    USB power

Does anyone happen to know the power capabilities of the USB ports on the MG4? I need to run a small cooler (for insulin), which takes about 24 watts, and it would be useful to plug it into the rear USB port if it has sufficient power. The 12-volt socket at the front is a long way away, plus it...
