    Apple CarPlay Sidebar

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone might be able to shed some light for me. RHD MG4 SR. Apple CarPlay has the sidebar for recently opened apps which is handy. It’s on the left side of the screen however (passenger side). Ideally this would be on my side. I’ve seen other vehicles have the...

    Warm Suspension

Just been on my regular shopping jaunt, over twisty and sometimes bumpy roads. Today noticed the ride quality was quieter and more supple than previously on the same road, even, dare I say it, very slightly wallowey? in places. The temperature is up around 26°C and the roads are warm, so I've...

    No live traffic information suddenly

A few days ago the live traffic information stopped working on my MG4 navigation system. The sim signal icon is showing full strength as normal, but there are is no traffic information on the map, and clicking the "cars" symbol brings up the message "no traffic events". The car is just over 8...

    Charging my first EV MG4

Hello. I just bought a MG 4 luxury 2023 model, and I’m wondering what type of battery it has, and if I can charge it to 100% without it being bad for the battery?

    Replace Bumper Chin on Xpower

Hey, Unfortunately on the drive home a large industrial (5 Gallon) bottle was volleyed over the central reservation and straight into the front of the car and has caused damage. Thankfully the main bumper is unaffected. I'm not sure if I have to replace the entire chin or if just the drivers...

I never knew the speed limit recognition was so bad

I started disabling the speed limit recognition on my car on day 2, along with the LKA, because the LKA was frankly diabolical and the speed limit thing was obviously lying to me. I kept doing that until I got the LKA fix last week, when I decided to discontinue the pre-flight routine to see...

    Infotainment bar in AA/CarPlay

Hi Guys, I have had a search and I don't think it is possible, but I'll ask all the same. I have recently purchased and installed a AI Box that connects to the car using wired CarPlay. All is great but it is really annoying that the infotainment bar along the top stays. Quite frankly it's a...

    Xpower Tires (stock size)

I thought this thread might be useful for people to post their experiences with different STOCK size tires for the XPOWER My car (NZ) came with Bridgestone Turanza EV tires. After 30,000km i noticed big chunks of rubber coming out of the tires, even though there was 6-8 mm tread left. Ive had...

    Miles to percentage acting up

Hi guys, sorry if this has been discussed before but I’ve had my MG4 SE about 6 months now and usually a full charge shows around 195-215 miles which I could live with, then during the warm weather 2 weeks ago I had around 70% charge and the miles jumped from around 140 to 240, I though that’s...

Type 2 charging issue (charging at work)

Hi Everyone, I need some help with type2 cable charging issue. It has started about 3 wks ago, if I`m charging my MG4 Trophy at work with the Type 2 cable that came with the car, the charge stops randomly between 57-65%. It doesn't matter if I started from 20% or 40%, it`s always in that range...

Partial malfunction of iSmart app – Vehicle Status not displayed

Hello, I own an MG4 and have been using the iSmart app to monitor my vehicle remotely. After a long period without driving the vehicle (although the traction battery remained well charged), I noticed the following: The app is still communicating with the vehicle: I receive updated battery...

    Best charger for the MG4

I've just bought a 2023 MG4, and it's being a bit picky about charging from our Tesla Wall Connector charge points. We've been using these for years with a Tesla Model S and an MG ZS EV, so I'm confident that there's no problem with the charge points, it's just some handshaking inconsistency...

Limiting the charge current during AC charging.

Here’s a little trick I almost feel guilty admitting to using. I live in Islington, no off-road parking/charging so I rely on street-chargers. The lamp post/bollard ones are great for overnight as they are limited to 3.5KW but there are also some parking bays with Source London 7KW ones which...

FIXED MG iSmart App not showing soc, temp, range etc... after refresh

Maybe it's just me, but sometimes the app doesn't display some values after refreshing them (or, in terms of the inside temperature, it's usually a deprecated value). I think that's very annoying because if you just want to know how much range you've got left, the solution always was to refresh...

Curious discrepancy in estimated range between car and Ismart

I thought I saw this weird discrepancy between the estimated range as shown by the car and in iSMART last week after charging the battery to 80%, but it was gone when I thought to take a photo of it. However it happened again this morning after charging to 100% overnight. iSMART shows 407km of...

    X Power 5000 miles. 🙂👍

My X Power has just turned 5000 miles. In 8 months. And have to say it's been faultless. I realise I've probably been lucky, considering the problems some folk have had with there X Power/MG4s. Love this motor. Not had any dealings with the dealer yet, apart from the initial purchase...
