Autonomous Emergency Braking setting

So, just had the 3rd emergency auto brake today (since car was bought Nov '23). My wife forgot to turn the damned thing off and pulled into the (proper) centre lane to turn right. Car coming the other way and emergency stop. Car behind just stopped in time (and I mean just). The LKA and AEB switched off 80% time, and still 3 times. Anybody know if the Trophy has an update for this since last Feb when dealer said they did some update or other for it. Feels like a sequel to a Dirty Harry film, well do you feel lucky, maybe it'll emergency brake maybe it won't .

There certainly have been some updates- take it back to your dealer and loudly complain about both systems and they should be able to install updates.

Make sure you are letting both screens boot up before pressing the brake pedal and driving off, the systems don't seem to like a rushed start up.

The emergency auto brake really is outrageous, not being able to leave it set to disabled (like most decent marques) is unbelievable, the only upside is the brakes aren't fantastic to start with so vehicles behind have a chance to avoid rear ending. Put this software in an Audi and accident rates would rocket

All these driver assist systems are instigated by NCAP - if you want 5 stars now you need to have these systems and have them default to On (unless the car supports driver profiles, in which case only the default/guest profile needs to default them to On). This applies to Any car rated after about April 2022 (might be earlier), thus includes the MG4.

As @siteguru says this is coming to all new cars, including Audis, as they are tested on the new NCAP regime.

I previously owned a 19 plate Mercedes A200 LKA was horrendous, far worse than the MG4. I was very disappointed for a supposed premium brand. I had a Cupra Formentor after that and it was far more civilized, but I suppose that was a VAG vehicle and they put more finance into development. Just my twopenny worth! I am still very happy with my SE LR.
