My 70p/kW is the FIT payment for all the electricity generated. I installed my solar panels in 2011 and the FIT payment is for 25 years increasing by CPI every year. Octopus will also pay for the exported energy which is the difference between the generated electricity and the used electricity, you have an export meter to measure but it is also included in the FIT payment - they assume you use half of the generated electricity (if you don't have an export meter). The IO go Tarif at 7.5p kW will result in a higher charge for electricity during the day, my calculations don't make it worth changing but again as I don't use many miles in my MG XPower and if I did increase my milage the change may be more attractive.I thought Octopus paid something around 15p/kWh if you export your solar generated? As IO Go is 7.5p/kWh you are better of charging at this and exporting all your solar???
