Just got my new MGS5 today. It's great BUT I can't connect MG iSmart to it as there's no "Binding" option on the settings menu.

Anyone else had the same problem as my MG iSmart app is now obviously defunct/redundant.

It took me a bit of browsing to find it, but there is a USER menu and it's under that. You scan a QR code. Mine worked very easily - I expected problems as I only unbound my ZS EV a few hours before.

I managed to bind mine ok. You connect the phone to car via bluetooth, when that's done on the app select bind car and follow the instructions.

Do you think it would be wise to go through process whilst you are still with the dealer?
Maybe, I did mine while at the dealers but to be honest I knew more than the sales guy did, but I have had a face-lift MG5 for 2 years so I'm well used to using the app. The young lad I dealt with, had only been working for the dealer for 3 months, I hope he enjoys his commission, he earned it.

When I pick up my MGS5 it will be my first introduction to iSmart so I was thinking it may be best to go through the setup before I leave.
If you haven't used the iSmart app then I would go through it when they do the handover. To be fair the young lad was pretty good, but he had never bound a MGS5 before, as you can only do the final actions with the phone belonging to the new owner, and mine was the first MGS5 he had sold.
