Car Cleaning

I'm sure the above will do a very good job, but costs here seem very excessive, their hourly rate must be huge. A lot of these ceramic coating places are targeting the wealthy and getting away with charging what they like, so shop around and look at feedback. You don't necessarily want the cheapest, but don't get ripped off. This isn't magic, it's just polishing followed by a product application that takes a similar amount of work to apply as a coat of wax or two. If most people knew the actual low cost of materials used they'd be shocked!

As for dealers, don't let them anywhere near your car for ceramic coating, or pretty much any form of valeting work, they almost certainly won't be employing any well paid specialists that know what they're doing. It really is a quick profit addition for minimal outlay to a dealer.
They're literally around the corner from Demon Tweeks, so I guess they're pricing accordingly. 🤷‍♂️

Lots to ponder there. I must admit though, that as I have pretty bad arthritis, I was looking for an easy solution to usual car washing scenarios frequency. As I said, never really looked into ceramic coatings. I will definitely have to read up on it. Again, thx for all the advice.

There’s a chap Swansea/port Talbot based who is in the MG4 group on Facebook and he’s just ordered one. He put up a special offer for MG4 owners of £500 (saving of 100 quid) for 5 year guaranteed coating and detailing etc. I’ve not had chance to take him up on the offer, it I’m hoping to. Although there are always the local guys found this area, but I’ve not had chance to get in touch with them yet.

The key with ceramic coating (and other treatments) is faultless cleaning and prep of the paintwork before it goes on and clean environment whilst drying/curing.

That’s what you are paying for with £400-600. Cheap quotes typically skimp on the prep to speed it up which compromises the coating.

If you are choosing someone, ask about the details of how they prep & cure and if they are vague about it, steer well clear.
