On my BEVs I have always set the max charge to 80%, unless I needed a 100% charge.

However, most of the literature just seems to deal with fully charging the HS PHEV battery. Is this correct?

The 80% rule is aimed at fast charging. As the HS PHEV has no fast charge, advice is to charge it to 100%. Also OK to ignore the minimum 20% rule.
