I admire your confidence, especially given that none of us actually knows for sure.Over 2 nights will be absolutely fine.

How many kWh are likely to be outside the "cheap" period?I can't anything online one way or the other, I'm going to do it in one charge tonight even though my wallet isn't happy about it![]()
Put it on charge earlier, than your cheap rate starts. Once every 3 to 6 months, isn't going to break the bank, is it? ?
How many kWh are likely to be outside the "cheap" period?
If you start at 10% then that is ~6.1kWh. 5 hours at 6.5kW will give 32.5kWh, making a total charge of ~38.6kWh. So you'd need another, say, 24kWh (including balancing) at the higher rate. Multiply that by your (higher rate - cheaper rate) then divide by 0.9 (with the assumption that charging efficiency is 90%) and you'll have your extra cost.![]()
Is there an Echo? ??Do what you're doing ... it's not going to break the bank doing it every 6 months, and you'll have peace of mind.![]()
No, because you didn't assuage his peace of mind. ?Is there an Echo? ??
That's spooky, I always say if you hear or read a word you haven't heard/read before, you'll hear/read it again soon afterwards. And you've said "assuage" which was an answer in today's crossword I did. Had to cheat on that one though, I'd never heard of of it. ?No, because you didn't assuage his peace of mind. ?
@tsedge Perhaps the question of whether the 6 monthly balance charge from 10% to 100% should be done in one charging session or if it can be split over two sessions could be put to @Miles Roberts CG at the next podcast
Also what tariff are you on? If intelligent octopus just plug in as early as possible and request 100% charge by say 9am and if it decides needs to be charged out of normal overnight cheap hours I think all the units will be at cheap rate to achieve what supply you asked for
The reason for the charge is so the BMS can tell the scope of the battery pack, so I would charge in one go, it's only every 6 months so it won't break the bank.Apologies in advance because I know this has been discussed before.
I'm currently running my SOC to around 10% so I can do the 10% - 100% charge and balance the battery, however I have an off peak tariff (5 hours) and don't think my car will get to 100% in that window.
The manual states this should be done every 3-6 months.
Is it ok to let it charge to whatever % it gets to in my charging window and then finish it off to 100% the next night ?
Otherwise I will be paying the higher electric rate getting it to 100% in one night.
Hope this makes sense,
Thanks
Andy
