Makes me wonder: are these deals only going to be temporary?

Because if not, why not reduce the RRP? There are plenty of people who don't look past the RRP when shopping for cars.

MGs need to be compared against whatever else is available at that time on the market. RRP comparisons make them look more expensive than they are.

Only an issue if you have bought it on PCP thinking you would come out with positive equity.
If you intend keeping it not an issue really
To be fair in today's market I can't really think of a car that will have positive equity at the end of any PCP deal.
PCP is what I went for but I am fully aware that in four years I will just be handling the keys back and start from zero.

It's a fair point, if you look at the MG 4 we all know they can be bought far cheaper than the RRP but as you say if you look at full price it is surrounded by really good competition.

The problem is if you didn't do any research at all you could be properly out of pocket they are still adverts for 4's at all most full list as well as the discounts we all know exist and the same can be said for all the other MG EVs.

Dropping the RRP as you said would make good cars bargains and cause massive issues for competitors

Agree and it isn't an issue as long as you are happy with writing your deposit off!
It is exactly why lease deals have become so popular, in most cases smaller deposits and monthly payments and same outcome at the end

Leasing is often cheapest - but can be harder / expensive to terminate early if your circumstances change.

Indeed leasing can work out cheaper. Wasn't in my case.
One more thing that worries me with leasing is the complexity in case something goes wrong.
