Not that cold. If I

The advertising blurb say 316miles. I've tried battery heating but it says not needed as it's warm enough. When buying cars take it all with a shovel full of salt.
Current MG4 blub is

Indeed .. but the chances of the OP getting an ER in May 2023 are slim to non-existent. :)

I bought an MG4 in May 2023. It has now done less than 22000 miles. My Daughter lives 110 miles away from us a round trip of 220 miles obviously. I bought the MG4 on the understanding that it would do 316 miles on a charge. So it should do my daughters round trip with a good margin to spare. I charge up so 100% now and it shows a range of about 250-280 miles. When I actually do the journey I struggle to get back home with range left in the low 10's. I drive at about 55mph on the dual carriageway (about 60% of ther journey) and the rest is A roads so between 45 and 55mph. I use the heater as little as possible opting for heated seat and steering wheel as needed. I am so disappointed that I've bought and MG ZS Hybrid+ to do the journey in in future. We'll use the MG4 just for short journeys locally and to visit my son who's round trip is only 90 miles. Can I complain to MG about this abysmal range?
Not sure i'd say it is abysmal - my first PHEV had an EV range of about 8 miles and my first EV had a maximum, summer, gentle driving range, of 73 miles.

Not sure if you are aware, but your MG4 is equipped with a rapid charging port, and there is likely to be a rapid charger between your daughters home and yours. Ten minutes of charging, when your battery is lower than 50% charge, is likely to give you about 50 miles of additional range. Yes, that ten minute session might cost you £10-15, but i've had a quick look and the cheapest MGZS hybrid I could find was £13,000 so it'll be at least 866 trips until you "break even". Although of course the MGZS will also drink quite a lot of petrol.

How much petrol would £15 pound buy, surely more than 50 mile in a hybrid.
But plugging in somewhere near the daughters place at one of the more economical public charging spots would give that additional security.
I doubt if the petrol gauge dropped to 10% of the fuel tanks capacity by the time he reach home would have him panicking about range anxiety and it's not like he could fill up the petrol or diesel fuel vehicle at home anyway .....

£15 at current prices would give about 60-70 miles for a petrol car doing 30 mpg. A hybrid would probably add 100 miles or so for the same amount.

BTW .. if you check the OP's posting history I doubt you'll find a single post that is complementary about the MG4. I thought the OP's forum name was familiar; checking the history reminded me why. :)

The long range models get that kind of range, you’ll get like 290 miles max in the summer if you’re really lucky.

It's advisable to report any post you feel is not made in good faith. Dropping obscure hints in the thread ain't going to cut it.
I didn't want to call it out as it might be genuine, but if the poster is known for similar type of posts .... it's possible, but not a sure thing .... he might just like to complain ......

Not everyone is going to be positive all the time. I'm currently positive about my MG4, but negative about my solar installer who hasn't installed a replacement inverter supplied by the manufacturer a week ago, after a month of problems. In a week I hope to be positive about both and stay positive for some time to come!
