I have an MG4 EV Trophy Extended Range. Recently the energy consumption display has started showing the entire pie-chart in red, indicating that all the power consumed on a journey has gone on the AC and nothing on actually driving the wheels. The attached photo of the screen shows this, where I had driven 50+ miles since the last charge, and the display shows all 18kWh as having been used for the AC.
Has anyone else had this problem? I have problems with getting the car to charge reliably on a schedule overnight, and wonder if this display error is symptomatic of a fault with the charging system.

It looks like you have the Intelligent Battery Heating ....on. That could be messing up the readings ?
Turn it off , its most likely you don't / won't need it for normal driving and home charging. It will be using a lot of energy which is better used elsewhere.
The pie chart in mine is pretty useless and not as good as the previous software version. I tend to get 100% driving and 0 % A/C all the time , its on most of the time , so as info goes ?????

Thanks for the suggestion. I probably switched that on as part of trying to sort out the overnight charging problems, ie, maybe it wasn't starting to charge because it thought the battery wasn't warm enough. I've got a trip tomorrow and I'll be charging on Saturday night, so I'll switch that off now and see whether it affects the display and/or the scheduled charging. According to the App battery heating is off. I've just turned it on in the App (success...) and off in the App (success...), but it's still on in the car's display, so I've turned it off there.

One observation (now that I can see the photo) ... your screen is reversed compared to mine - the pie chart is on the right for me with the graph on the left. (Mine's an SE SR).

I turned off Intelligent Heating, and the Energy Consumption Display returned to normal. This is clearly a software bug. Do MG have a process for reporting bugs?

The "glitch " might be an extra visible warning that the IBH is on???? although no-one else has discovered it. Your miles per kw has gone up by 25% ( 33% ?) as a result so win win.
Mines RHD so the screen is orientated differently , but on R38 the IBH button has moved to a different section, what software version are you on?
Reporting an error ! try MG UK , they will say contact your dealer . The dealer will say contact MG UK or book it in and we will look at it , around 140 quid if they do not find anything astray ( likely ).
The best bet is to wait for the next service , and mention it when booking and again ( in writing ) when taking it in . As an anomaly , glitch etc they should give you a updated version free as part of the warranty when doing the service , although you may need to argue your point and describe it as a fault. For that you will need confirmation from this forum that it is different from everyone else's .
Like many , I have never turned on IBH and so have no info as to how it affects the screen, just for you I'll give it a go and report back but it will need a number of us to do the same to find a conclusion.
