Faulty Speedometer Screen

Thanks, I did look for a wiring diagram for a few minutes but couldn't find one so I appreciate that, I'll take a look.

It comes in 3 components, the dashcam, the module and the immobiliser.

The dashcam was just attached via USB to the module, so that's removed.

The module was connected via an OBD splitter, so that's now removed.

But the immobiliser seems so go much deeper to the point it looks like I'm going to have to remove the dashboard to get to the wiring which seems crazy. I've removed plenty of dashboard before so not an issue for me but feels extreme. There's two wires that are taped up to the existing loom and I've put my hand up deep into the dash and can't feel them come out. I'm concerned they're effecting other systems so want it out.
The immobilizer probably connects to the front fuse box. Could you please check if there’s anything unusual or, if you want, send a photo?

Thanks Geekice, I did look at the fuse box but couldn't see anything obvious, there's a taped wire off the negative battery terminal that looked potentially iffy. See pics below. Any help would be appreciated.

I managed to get the screen fixed, update all modules, re calibrate the front camera and front radar, fix all errors with srs, abs, etc, programmed a new key too... So the car is great now other than I couldn't update the FICM and am stuck on R13. It's an SE model and I did see a comment about someone not being able to update the SE, I'm not even sure what the latest version is for the SE. So got that to look into.

@EVfanatic The fuse box and the negative terminal look fine, so I’m not sure where the immobilizer connects. For the MG4 SE (software starting with SWI69-....-1100Rxx), R13 is very old; the latest available is R40. It brings several improvements and fixes the A/C and Bluetooth issues. I recommend installing R40, then updating FICM and HVAC via SIPS to sort out the air conditioning. Here’s the link for R40, and I’ve attached the PDF with the update instructions.

All done and updated but T box in SIPS has a cross, I've seen how to update but can't find which version for a 2023 SE?

Just wanted to thank everyone in this thread and others.

I bought a gamble, a written off MG4 with no speedometer working and a host of faults, I've bought many written off vehicles in the past but never an electric one.

After fixing the bodywork I turned to the computer side of things and none of my scanners (Launch, Xtool) could help with over half the issues. Thanks to this forum I've learnt how to use SIPS, gathered the files and within 24hrs of many many updates, camera and radar calibrations etc the car is now 100% perfect.

The car has cost me about £7k all in which I think is pretty decent for a car with very low miles.

So thank you

Just to also add I bought this initially for it's price and intended to sell it but my wife absolutely loves it so we're keeping it.

Well done Bud ! - Importantly its great to hear that SAIC offer access to their servers (SIPS / VDS ?) to 3rd party repairers (like VAG group do with ODIS) - Its NUTs that its only cost you £7k all in - well done again (y) (y) (y) - Is the Pyro fuse inside the HV battery on the MG4?
