When they plugged the car in there was loads or error codes ( apparently relating to the disconnect & reconnect of the battery). Apparently it is impossible for them to see what the error is without “opening” each error code which I am told given the number would have taken an enormous amount of time.
They cleared all the codes so that they could start from the beginning, however no additional codes were recorded. It sounds as if the car just had a “brain fart” hopefully it won’t happen again - we will see !
Glad you have got it back and all seems OK. Annoying not to really know what the problem was. However, at least the support you received seemed good. Are you going to try to charge tonight at home?

Sure will, I have plugged it in already ( using octopus schedule charge) so far it’s put about 5% in, the next schedule starts at 10 tonight so hopefully all will be good.
 
I'm using ELM327 OBD2 BT dongle, it is cheap. Works with app Car Scanner on my Android. It has profiles for several MG EVs. It is possible to get a lot of info here, but are probably limited in the more specialized modules in the IM cars, as most if not all software is, not considering dealer systems.

Pleased to confirm that car charged to 100% overnight without issue ( off on a long trip for a New Year’s Eve bash)!

Good to hear. Just annoying that you do not know the reason and therefore do not know of an obvious fix if it happened again.
