What it says on the tin. The phase one cars are going through their first MOTs now and a couple of people have had problems. This is to try to gauge how common these actually are, maybe get people thinking about a pre-MOT check before something suddenly rears its head five minutes before that particular warranty runs out. Please say whether your car is an SE SR, an SE LR or a Trophy in your comment.

If you have had any advisories please say what these were, also if your car has failed on something other than the suspension issue.

ETA: It would also be helpful if people could state their approximate mileage at the time of the test.

SE SR failed at 60,000 miles

Nearside Rear Service brake excessively fluctuating (1.2.1 (e))

Dealer did try and get me to do rear disks and pads at the 45,000 mile service about 9 months before the MOT.

Trophy passed today, no advisories.
(I asked them to take a good look at the front wishbone bushes too)

I did spend a day hanging on the handbrake to clean up the rear disks as they were pretty rusty. It's not good for your brain though, it's like going on a roller coaster when you are old - turns the grey matter to mush!

First off the boat SE with black windows. Passed last Aug? No advisories 19k miles ? Track rod end had started clunking year before but was changed under warranty on service.
Have you got a '22 MG4, or did you just get the MOT done early?

Didn't think there were any '22's.

Our MOT is due in June so I will have to remember to come back on here then.

Trophy LR, 23 plate, passed no issues, 23,680 miles, 24 Feb 26.

In Germany we have HU (should be more or less the same as MOT) - Anyone had issues with water in the rear lamps (they are very strict here about this - even if you tell them that its normal to a certain point and just physics). I also am a little worried about my rear brakes because I haven't really used them that much and now try make the rust / corrosion go away. It has gotten a bit better since this picture but you can still clearly see a thick ring on the outer side. The front is fine.

It doesn't look very bad, try using the parking brake a few times from a reasonable speed - 80-100 kmh - when no one is behind you obviously! Eventually they will clean up a fair bit.

I always went to N to use the brakes more often - But how exactly does the car behave when pulling the E-Brake? I think I saw that in a video with a ZS some time ago where the dude just pulled it up and held it for some seconds. Is that the way to go or should I just hammer it in till the car stops?
