Mine has passed with advisories that two of the brake discs are showing scoring or pitting but not seriously weakened. This is a year after my original dealer insisted that the brakes were "almost 100% worn" and should be replaced at vast expense. My local garage, who did the MOT, said there's nothing to worry about.

31,000 miles on the clock.

It's both rears, as you say. I have done the handbrake cleaning, though not that recently. I suspect this is probably what Macklin saw a year ago and made such a production about, and it just hasn't got any worse.

I asked Andrew to clean off the brakes if he thought they needed it, at the time of the MOT (he was changing the tyres at the same time), but I didn't get any invoice for that so I presume he didn't think it was necessary.

Goth Leo had his first MOT today.
Squeaky bum, squeaky bum, squeaky bum......
And he passed! No advisories.

The brakes pads were just 20% worn.

At the service, they found the dreaded warped undertray, but have already initiated getting it resolved under warranty. Also, some weird error messages, which I mentioned on the forum last year, could not really be resolved as the record was too old. But they could see the issues, and so have noted it, so that anything that may be problematic over the next while will mostly likely also be a warranty job.

Dicksons in Inverness remaining on the ball and good.

Your dealer sounds like an absolute treasure.
So far, I really can't fault them. Re the issues I was having last year, I wrote out details for them, only to find they'd already made notes on the account when I phoned them, so knew to do checks this service.
I do make sure I thank them at every interaction, pointing out how different they are to some of the dealer horror stories we see on this forum. Dealerships and garages don't have to be run like dodgy lock-in schemes, with un-empowered staff, and marks instead of customers.

Just had a call from Dicksons in Inverness. They have the parts for the warped undertray, and must have got clearance to do this under warranty too. They've booked us in for this Friday, when we have to be in Inverness anyway, saving an extra 200 mile round trip. Very happy.
