Hive EO mini 3 & MG4 charging issues

Considering EO Mini Pro 3 with Hive and British Gas. Any comments on how reliable and good deal this is and how is the app? Any good? Any comments on solar with this, also considering adding solar somewhere down the line ...
Using 3 pin charger so far with BG as their dual fuel tariff was the cheapest overall...

I'm afraid I can't help but would be interested in hearing how you get on and welcome to the wacky world of MG ?
We have a new MG4 Trophy and perhaps unwisely went for the EO Mini Pro 3 charger as it compatible with Hive and we have loads of gadgets on Hive.
Having no end of charging issues.
The charger keeps going into fault after charging.
The car won’t accept a charge unless we tell it to on the MG4 app.

So:
How do we get the MG4 to accept a charge once the charger is ready and all cables are connected?

Has anyone else got the EO Mini Pro 3?
I’m about to start formal complaints with Hive around the fact it is so temperamental.
Had the charger since Thursday (so day 4) and it has gone into fault status on every day so far.

I had an EO Mini Pro1 charger for my first MG ZSEV. It failed catastrophically after three years. There is NO support from EO and I was advised that it was now obsolete and irreparable. I took them to the small claims court and they settled the day before the case was due to be heard. Avoid EO if you possibly can. Please read the trip advisor reports. They show what a shambles of a company they are. I am surprised that they're still in business.

Bit of a necro-post, sorry, but possibly useful to anyone else staring at their one-smart-ish EVSE.

My EO "smart home hub" (basically a mini Pro2 with the brains elsewhere so you can attach PV sensors) is out of support. Thankfully the brain is just a Raspberry Pi and woefully insecure. Same is true of the Mini Pro2. If you pop the case open (turn off the power first!) you can extract the SD card with EO's now defunct software on it and replace it with something else. It takes about 30 minutes and all you need is a laptop and an SD card reader.

Avoid EO chargers. There is virtually no product support. The devices become obsolete when software support is withdrawn. You will be offered a derisory discount on an updated device. Only remedy is to sue via the County Courts. Took me over a year to get adequate resolution. Please read reviews of this company before even considering their products.

Did you read my post?

I am simply saying that the open source community have a solution if anyone else has a Mini Pro2 and want to get scheduled charging back.

I wish we didn't buy it, but given it's the charger we have, I think others in the same boat might want to know it's possible to get that functionality back without ever having to interact with EO
