How do I make the symbols disappear on MG4 Trophy screen

After updating the firmware on my MG4 Trophy to the latest version, these symbols won’t disappear, even when watching a video or with the screen off (as shown in the picture below). Has anyone else experienced this issue?

That's expected, and as-designed ... the recent updates make the top bar permanent regardless of what else is trying to use the screen. (Android Auto / Apple CarPlay are the same).
