...Yes, fuel costs look to plummet somewhat, hopefully with a corresponding increase in driving fun :=) ...My work commute is a busy rush hour 20 miles each way, 5 days/week, and I typically I achieve 35-40 MPG (average speed 15-20 MPH). Quick sums predict a weekly fuel bill of £40 dropping to about £6 when charged on an EV overnight plan. Hey, even if it ended up being twice that I'd be well on the right side.
Welcome Dave, there's not a lot of ER owners like us out there,

. Someone did research on this forum a while ago and at the time there was only 850 registered in the UK, let's say 1000 now. I've had mine 14 months now.
It's a fun car to drive, the bigger motor gets you out of trouble verrrry quickly

. Not as quick as the very fast X-Power, but next in line.
I see that you have a slow commute

, you might find the 'one pedal drive' feature useful as well as the 'Advanced Cruise Control' that tootles you along at the same pace as the vehicle in front of you. If the traffic stops for a while, you have to dab the accelerator to re-engage it.
I would definitely get yourself a charger point installed, it will pay for itself in the long run. I'm thinking of replacing my very dumb charge point that was installed way back in 2016 and think that the Ohme charger with Octopus Intelligent Go, as with Griffian's experience, is the one to choose. I have Octopus Go tariff and use the schedule charging facility in the car to get my cheap rate overnight.
I saw an article on the Beeb about the Chancellor having a 'conversation' about levying EV drivers 3p per mile.

You have to guesstiame your annual mileage, then pay in advance, if you are under, then you pay the difference

. What is she thinking about

. So you might have to build that criteria into your sums on running costs per annum. God knows how she expects that to work

Also look out for quick wear of the rear tyres, I only got 11,000 mile out of the Bridgestone Touranza's. Apparently they come with shallow tread depth to reduce road noise

. I don't normally drive with a heavy foot and was disappointed of the wear rate, I have Michelin Cross Climate 2's on now...also recommended hereabouts.
Anyway enjoy
