Lifting point for changing wheels

Hello everyone,

I'm wondering if it's possible to change the wheels on an MG4 using a different jacking point than the one on the frame rail... I noticed there are holes opposite the jacking point markings, covered by a rubber cap. I'm wondering if it's like Teslas, with male pads that you insert into the holes?

I have a set of these pads which fit perfectly in these holes when the rubber cap is removed.

Great! And you used them on the MG4?
I can't find any pictures illustrating this procedure on the MG4 (I want to be sure I don't mess anything up).

Not yet but they fit perfectly, don't see any problem. They were advertised as being suitable for the MG4.

The jack points are marked by arrows on the black plastic body sides.
The lift points are the seam (circled blue), or the "puck" point (circled green).
If using the puck points, remove the plastic cap / plug, and insert a puck (like the Tesla ones) or a rubber block to cover the hole, and place the jack there.
If using the seam to lift you need to use a rubber block with a slot. As there is no spare you will need to lift the car one side at a time, or all 4 (as I do) to rotate them properly.
The tyre pressure monitor will work it out which one is which pretty quickly after driving.

Thread 'Are we allowed to jack up our MG4s'

This may sound like a daft question, but my friend has an EV (Polestar 2), and he has been told specifically he is not allowed to jack it up.

I need to jack my MG4 up because I have a flat tyre, the car is at home, and I want to take wheel off, so I can take it to tyre place to get a replacement.

The manual only mentions lifting using the joints and a scissor jack, for example. It doesn't cover using the other lifting point (with a rubber pad and a male plug).

There are arrows on the plastic sill that identify the jacking point. These line up exactly with the jacking hole points sealed with a rubber protection cap. The pucks simply add more protection than placing the jack on the seam weld. Many cars have the positioning holes for jacking pucks including Teslas, BMWs etc

Are the rubber cushions designed for Teslas compatible with the MG4? I can't find any similar ones that indicate compatibility.
