Looking help and advise !

Started car got the ready message selected drive released handbrake pressed accelerator nothing happend car was still in neutral selected drive again released hand brake still nothing happening so turned car off everything okay after that, it's happend 2/3 times now thought it must be me, when it did it today noticed on pilot screen red battery possibly with line through and close by yellow battery and message something a long the lines of battery not working or maybe not available not sure as was all so quick, hoping someone can help.

Looks like you need a new 12 volt battery. If it's under 12 months old, the 12V will still be in warranty.

You can get some really odd happenings if the drivers door is not closed, or the start-up procedure has been disrupted. But also check battery as above.

When I select drive on my car, the handbrake automatically disengages.

@peterseddon - provided your seatbelt is fastened. If I am just moving my car in or out of my garage, I don’t want to put on my seatbelt, but the car refuses to move. I have to manually release the EPB.

Thank you all I've just discovered the following and it might help others

The "HV battery shut off" message in an MG ZS EV indicates a safety feature where the high-voltage (HV) battery system is temporarily disabled, often due to a detected fault or after a significant impact like a collision. To resolve it, ensure the vehicle is in the correct mode (footbrake applied, P selected, and START/STOP button pressed) and that the 12V battery is properly connected. If the issue persists, it may indicate a more serious problem requiring professional inspection and potentially downloads for the VCU and EVCC, as reported by some MG ZS EVIt's perfectly normal!
