Yes, Teslas are remarkably efficient. But after watching that video, it is the IM5 I want.
I’ve gone for the ID7 - great range, great 2 year lease deal, German built, good software and a good local trusted dealer I know well. Warranty issues dealt with without question 🙂. Suits my needs better these days too with lots of longer distance motorway journeys . It will cost me far less on a 2 year lease than my Xpower has cost over 2 years on PCP but to be fair that was bad timing on my purchase…. I was too eager to get one early 😉

Also be careful about what Mercedes are up to with the CLA 250+... it turns out that most of the useful software-related options are not included in the sizeable purchase price. For instance, you don't even get adaptive cruise control:
Augmented Reality permanent £429
360 camera for parking for 3 years £239
Drive Assist three years £749

At those prices, I'm likely to just walk away from the CLA on principle.

There's retail list prices and then there's personal lease prices. Sometimes there is a huge disconnect 😉

The equivalent Xpower lease deal at the time of the above ID7 (July 2025) deal is below :-

No subscriptions on the VW thankfully and lots of toys 👍

Go figure which I thought was the better deal !!!

You are right MG IM5 standard range 8000 miles £1100 upfront, £380 a month

Yes, I watch the lease prices very closely and the ID.7 has been a real bargain for over a year now. We picked up an ID.3 on 2 yr / 6k for just £196/month on a 9+23 deal which was ridiculously cheap! Mercedes want over £600/month for 12k/yr on 9+23/35/47, excluding those extra packs, so they can take a running jump...
