Updated IM SL6 in China:

Looks like a brilliant update.

Interesting how they have changed the front interior to have a separate passenger screen and a much bulkier divider. Not sure if I prefer it or not.

Think I have to agree, the separate screen on the passenger side looks a little odd to me as well. I assume that’s for CarPlay etc, good luck touching anything from the drivers side.
I doo like some of the other changes though ( but I’m not convinced of the front) 🥺

Same here. Fronts looks a bit weird. I like what they did with the lights; not sold on the bulkier image that the car now has.
Interior I like; good touches on the electrically adjusted back seats; the roof cover which is not needed in the UK but will help in other markets.
Really like the red mechanical opening switches for the doors; a significant safety aspect. I cant still believe that many EVs (my Model 3 included) do not have mechanical mechanisms on the back doors.

Reckon the second screen in front of the passenger is for them to watch videos etc while driving. I believe all controls are now in the 2 screens in front of the driver.
Addition of the buttons will also be welcomed by many drivers; personally I don't really care :)

Forgot to add; current IM6 has another screen already for the passenger in the Chinese market which has been removed for export versions.
I reckon the updated version will follow the same path...

I remember seeing the logo so presumed they are there, when I asked the dealership they said that accessories are coming out in the future

Copied from a FB post:

I have had my IM6 for nearly three weeks now and done 1000 miles.
If anyone is interested in my thoughts…
I had a Tesla model 3 for four years, and despite a few niggles, it has been, by a mile, the best car I have ever owned. However, I felt the need to move away from what I view as a tainted brand.
I think the IM6 is lovely car to drive. Smooth, luxurious, well built, comfortable and an all round lovely place to be.
However, there are a considerable amount of irritations, and it feels like it has been rushed to market before being properly snag tested. Here goes….
Very twitchy ADAS - suddenly grabs the wheel for no reason, and then the steering stays stiff for a few moments. Obviously I can switch most of this off but, I shouldn’t really have to.
No station/RDS info on DAB stations.
Radio keeps defaulting back to FM
Radio station favourites screen doesn’t show the whole station name, so I just have a list of buttons on screen that say BBC RADIO - and have to remember which one is which.
No walk away locking.
No sentry mode despite having 10 cameras.
Auto Boot opening very hit and miss.
Pilot mode can be good but can also be a bit un-nerving in how close it gets to the kerb and central lines.
Reverse creep starts slow and then speeds up violently to the point where, if you’re not careful, you will hit an object.
The reversing camera and guides are dreadful - as if they have used a telephoto lens. It makes 5m look like 20m, then suddenly, you’re there !!
The rear camera (in lieu of a proper rear windscreen) is clever, but you can’t alter where it appears on the screen, so for me (and my wife, with a different seat position) it is pretty much completely obscured by the upper left quarter of the steering wheel.
The dashboard visualisation of your surroundings and other traffic has about a half second delay - i.e. at the point when an oncoming car actually passes you, the visualisation still has it on the screen.
In-car (not CarPlay) Spotify doesn’t retain log-in details.
Auto lane change not working at all
Seat massage not working - (well, it does, but switches off after about 2s)
Brakes sticking on after having been parked for a few hours.
Home button on console also resets dashboard screen, so you keep needing to reload your nav / media . back up on screen. Surely SAIC, could just have two on-screen home buttons or have a single and double press option.
Home charging needs constant monitoring as it keeps stopping.
It is very very slow to warm up remotely and the app is very clunky.
App shows different range from the dashboard in the car.
The car doesn’t detect my phone automatically to allow me to get into the car, so always need the key or the card
The key might look cute, but can’t attach to a key ring so you have to buy a sleeve with a strap and key-ring - making it really bulky.
The facility to 2-finger swipe on the console screen to alter the cabin temperature is clever, but only works for the drivers side. So if the passenger side is noticeably different, you have to go into the menu to change it.
Evidently, these are all first world problems, but it’s not a cheap vehicle and given the amount of tech that DOES work on the car, I can’t believe it’s beyond the boffins at SAIC, to flag these issues and sort them out.
Hopefully there will be OTR updates to fix so evidently these, but TBH. I am starting to wish I had put my qualms to one side for the new Tesla Model Y.

No; no guarantee whatsoever indeed.
Auto headlights should be fixable though with update since the Chinese version has it.
As for the one pedal driving China is going away of it so I cannot see it happening.
The car though does regen when you use the break pedal; the likes of BYD. It is just adjusting to a different style of driving.

Really hope so, my worry (having ordered an IM6) is that this isn't a new car, so if a software update was a solution I'd have expected that to have happened by now. As I understand it the IM5 and IM6 were first released (in some territories / China) in 2023 (happy to be corrected if that's wrong).
