MG ZS EV - 2024 - Map updates

Presumably from this link? https://mgmotor.eu/downloads/maps.zip
How do you know which model it's for? There seem to be different updates for each model, I have a 2023 ZS EV Trophy.
Did you successfully update & what version was it?
I just downloaded it and inside the maps folder is a file called version.txt, which has the content:
24Q3_EU_20240829032156_n
So it looks like there is finally an updated map for EU, but again, is this for all EU MG models? I don't want to brick my unit.

You should try this :
User manuals
You enter the VIN,
You then download the map update user manual, which will give you the download site suited for your car. Is it the same ?

So I succesfully updated my maps in my ZS EV Standard bought in France
Before update, map definition was 23Q4 and after 24Q3
We can then say that the update rate seems to be yearly, but with a 18-month delay ...

Maybe you could ask them at Contact MG Motor Australia ?
I didn't see anything about manuals on that website, anyway

We can see HERE_EU_24Q3 on the map definition
EU stands for EUROPE for sure
I think they would just ignore them as well. Twice now I have raised the issue with them and twice they have ignored the replies I have sent them, probably put me down as JUNK emails.

Last time they replied to say that the maps in my 2023 car were the latest. The actual maps are from 2022 and checking NaviExtras site the latest they show are 2025Q2 so I replied very nicely saying that there information was wrong just to be forgotten about

My question is why did MG UK and EU start putting the updates on the web site, is it because they know the old method of updating does not work?????

And I suppose that when you go to the annual maintenance they just does'nt bother about the map update.
Before checking the web site, I gave a phone call to the folks who maintain my car to ask them about that, and they said 'oh, the cards does not change so frequently, and I'm not going to ask to MG headquartes about that' ....

I updated my maps yesterday. I looked on the Portuguese and the Belgian language MG.EU sites. Interesting that on the page after the VIN entry, the link still says it is to 2023Q4 (see photo) . In fact the downloaded file is 24Q3 as above. For info, my first attempt failed MD5. I used a Windows computer and unzipped directly to the exFAT USB. My second, successful attempt was: (slow) reformatting the USB to NTFS, unzip file to hard disk then copy to USB.

Upgraded mine today via the eu website. There is a zs ev uk spec on there.
It takes a while. First I got the select resources screen. It took a while but map appeared and I ticked the box . Then it took a good half hour to upload. It then checks the files and asks you to reboot.

Downloaded the files and put them on a freshly NTFS formatted thumb drive and deleted the 2 files "File_Verification" and "versions.txt" but this time i still get the pesky MD5 hash error.

I have done the 2022 to 2023 update but this time it does not want to do it, it seems.

Will probably have to try downloading again, unpacking and copying to the thumbdrive once again.

Really pisses me off, it having to be this difficult, i fight this stupid navi every time i go to update it.

Once you have downloaded the zip file you need to extract it and then copy the 'maps folder' to the empty thumb drive. If you delete anything from that folder it wont work.

If i copy the maps folder to the root of the thumbdrive i get MD5 verification error, i have had this problem with previous updates, as has many others, but if you delete 2 files it usually works, but not this time.

Last time it was file_verification and vn.txt, this time there is no vn.txt, but a versions.txt, i tried both, with only deleting file_verification and also both that and versions.txt, but it still fails.
