MG4 Drivers seat, has it sunk?

Hi, first post... Sorry it's a bit of a moan about a great car.

We've had our MG4 Trophy about a week (after having a 2015 leaf for 5 years) and we absolutely love most things about it.

My biggest gripe though is with the outer edge of the driver's seat. Comfortable enough while driving but when getting out, I get a sharp cramp like pain in the back of my leg as I go over the rather high hard plastic part of the seat.
Oh, car has about 14500 miles on it.

Is this normal? Will I just develop a better technique? Or is there a well known fix?

I'll be back with questions about driving menus but not in this thread.

Cramp suggests that your seating position is suboptimal ... moving your leg over the seat bolster shouldn't cause cramp, but maybe the tightness is already there and the movement of your leg exacerbates it.

The MG4 does have a wide sill though, and that takes a bit of getting used to.

Thanks, I think you might be right in that I've always been used to stepping almost straight down from a car seat, where this is a bit of a reach across too.

It is odd though that the hard plastic of the seat side is what the back of my leg rubs over as I get out. I would expect to be standing up off the soft(er) seat cushion.

The seats do make it relatively uncomfortable to get out of due to the height (and taper) of the lower side bolster. No idea why it needs to be so high, but I noticed exactly the same as you (apart from the cramp) when moving from an Ioniq to the MG4.

I remember developing a new technique to get in and out when we first got our MG4. I don't ever have the problem reported though.

My wife had difficulty getting out of the car until I bought a wedge-shaped seat cushion (thicker at the back).

No problem getting in and out of the car. The seat bolsters provide some good support in the curves. Without them, people would be moaning that there aren't any seat bolsters and that they're sliding around.

Guessing the clamping arrangement is not getting a tight enough grip and allowing the slippage over time ?

I used one of these when I had my MG4 and I use it in my S5. Mainly to give me a bit extra height when the seat is all the way back but I've found it makes the seat more comfortable too.

I'm still experimenting with seat heights.
I prefer the view with it higher, but then I have to slide over that painful edge when getting out.
Having the seat lower helps a lot.
I may well try one of those booster cushions.
