Hmmm. It could be to do with insurance. The cover for the public to test drive the car doesn't cover business use which as he's posting it on YouTube and making money from it he will be classified as a business. The other journalists will have had to use their own insurance.

It looks to me that the driver alert sensor has been disabled in the press cars.
When he sits in the car, there is no infrared light in the sensor, which is seen in other videos.

I guess that was supposed to indicate how desirable the MG4 is ... although my takeaway was "How did the masked man simply drive away? Shouldn't the key have needed to be inside the car?" ?

That bonging would make me take a baseball bat to the dash, but I'm interested to see his winter testing results - hopefully by end of November.

Yes, and this lane assist thing keeps coming up time and time again .
Why do you need this? I can't think of a single occasion ever when I've needed a robot to shove me back into a lane. Are these things really just designed for the likes of mobile phone addicts, who 'drive' using their phone, with the old head bobbing up and down, oblivious to real reality of what's in front of them? Same with a lot of these 'safety' features- are they a stealth way of 'acceptance' that mobile phone addiction to the point of someone can't even 'drive' a car without using their phone in a hand held way, isn't really policeable to the scale on which the problem exists, so introducing some of these 'features' is one way of mitigating accidents caused by the addiction?

I agree that it's completely redundant for any competent driver but I think such features have to be included if you want to see a 5* NCAP rating.

@4ND is quoting his own experience (which would be the same as mine BTW).
If it's just a generic comment, I'd say that competent drivers don't fall asleep at the wheel!

Got to agree, got a hole host of features in my Arteon, never use cruise control and LKA is permanently switched off.
In saying that if you want to use these features they should certainly perform better than has been reported by MG4 owners, I haven't seen a positive comment about LKA
