I have just started getting an alarm from my MG4 "Security alarm is deactivated. You can now drive the vehicle (***846) safely" it keeps coming every few seconds. I have tried opening and locking my doors with the button, as well as with the remote control, I have also reset the infotainment screen, unfortunately without that it has cleared the alarm, it keeps coming. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can get it to go away. I get the alarm on my iSmart app.

Have you driven the car after you started receiving these messages? Sometimes data faults to recover after the car is driven.

Otherwise, if you are happy to do it, disconnect the negative terminal of the 12V battery for 10 minutes. After you reconnect you will need to reset the steering and windows, see the Wiki at the top of this MG4 forum. You will also see faults indicated but they usually clear after a little while.

I had the exact same issue with the iSmart app. The only thing that worked for me was unpairing the app from the car by tapping the garage icon at the top of the main screen, then pairing it again using the car’s QR code. Since then, I haven’t received any more alerts.

I have had the same issue since the app upgraded itself to V3.0.0. Not had previously. I did email [email protected] but only received a standard response asking for details that I had already provided (although not necessarily in the same order!). No reply since I answered that. Not impressed.

Text I sent them, QUOTE

Since iSmart v3 was installed on my phone I have been encountering some difficulty using the app, that was not the case with previous releases. I do use the app to manage charging the car battery, this has become significantly more difficult.

The problem is that when I open the app to the main (MG) screen, or select the Vehicle Status screen, this is overridden by the Message Screen with the Alarm tab displaying a message “Security alarm cancelled” (I have not cancelled the alarm) which is date and time stamped. The message refreshes every 2-3 seconds and to do anything else I have to select the option I want (usually the EV Management tab) within that time. Not easy as I have to scroll down the home screen the see the EV Management option.

Once in the EV Management screen I can move away from the app and go back to that screen later to check the charging status without problem.

I have tried clearing the cache. That appears to work sometimes, but not always.

Can you please advise as to any alternative action that I can take to remove the problem?
