MG4 Software Update Thread

R63 with the LKA fix is such a pleasure. I haven't turned LkA off once. The tug is so mild and rare. I must confess that I have become superstitious and haven't adjusted LKA settings since I got it, although I am tempted to reduce sensitivity from medium but it's not necessary.

The only draw back is that ACC is worse in that deceleration is pretty abrupt when it detects a vehicle or turn. It wasn't great before but it is awful now. Still, I am reduced to grumbling about Bluetooth repairing niggles which isn't a bad place to be.

I'm a bit confused about that SC077 update.

I'm now on R46 (2022 Luxury EU model), where I can swipe down in AA maps navigation to be able to operate seat/steering wheel heating in the AC menu. That includes the top bar where you can always turn on your fog lights.

I understand that this option will be undone in SC077. But is that in the optional update of R63 or in the "mandatory" SC077 update? I have to go for an annual service again in June, and I absolutely do not want to lose the option that you can swipe from AA.

The entire autumn/winter/spring I turn on the seat/steering wheel heating in the morning at 05.50 when I leave and turn it off again after a few minutes. Swiping directly is much safer for that because you can keep your eyes on the road.

As fast as I know SC077 should not alter anything within the infotainment system. My Trophy is on R33 and nothing changed after its SC077 update except the LKA performance.
^^^ is the correct answer. SC077 has nothing whatsoever to do with the Infotainment software. Whether or not your dealer will offer/try to update it anyway is something you'd need to speak with them about, but SC077 itself won't touch it.

Thank you for clarifying.

So the update that messes with the AA behaviour is R63 than. That leaves the choice between a good working AA in R46 or an extra LKA turnoff button in the quickswipe menu in R63. As the SC077 has tamed the LKA, I think i'll stick with R46 than.

Or are there other really good aspects of R63 that i'm not aware of?

What left button Where? 🤷‍♂️

(A photo would probably be most descriptive). :)
The left "joystick" button.
I tried it once and it worked.
However, the next time I got in the car it worked initially, but wouldn't work every time I tried it since then.
This seems to have coincided with Android Auto deciding to display maps in my preferred dark mode, which has never worked for me before!

When A/C is on while in Android Auto, double click button 1.
