MG4 Software Update Thread

Has someone here updated the MG4 + versión by manually using a USB? My dealer in Colombia said there are no updateas but my car is running R32. I am really outdated.

Any help much be appreciated

Yes, I also live in Colombia and I did it manually via USB. Just by chance, are you on the "viviendo verde" whatsapp group for MG? (I have MG4 Deluxe)

BTW, no one here knows what an MG4+ is, people here use other designations due to different markets. I also get confused lol

You need to read a little more this thread : RXX isn't enought to say i'm up to date or not.
You need the all build number like SWI68-29958-1300RXX

R32 usually refer to SWI133-29176-1300R32 which is Luxury (Trophy) version for 2024 MG4 (V3 version). So R32 is pretty much one of the latest for MG4 Luxury/Trophy 2024 (V3) model.

For V1 and V2 (2022 and 2023), it's SWI68-29958-1300R67 and R67 is the latest known version forLuxury Trophy.

And if you are a Standard/SE or Standard ER, it's another build (SWI69 for V1 or V2 model (2022 and 2023) or SWI132 for V3/2024 model)

I don't think they're officially MY22 etc. either - that's just how we refer to them.

Changes are not restricted to once a year, the only official language I have heard is Phase 1 and Phase 2 cars (corresponding to pre and post rear centre headrests / 18 inch wheels / rear wiper / OPD).

Yep
In France, firsts editions (with and without drowsiness detector) are Model Year 2022 (MY22).
The version with One Pedal (mid 2023) is Model Year 2023 (MY23) and the last upgrade with GRS 2 features is Model Year 2024 (MY24)

I have read the text and honestly I think MY23 already follows this requirements, at least Lux version.

MY22 and MY23 got the same ADAS. And yes, it's Almost GSR 2 ready because since 2022, cars have to be GSR compliant and the only this add since mid 2024 is ISA for Lux/Trophy (with build SWI133) and that's why SE/Standard got reverse camera and GPS with build SWI132 to be GSR 2 ready)

And if you compare MY22 and MY23 ADAS with MY24 one, you'll see that TJA (Trafic Jam Assist) is now called ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control) and it's only after GSR 2 regulation. MG3, MG S5 ev and other "'new" MG cars got the same now, no more TJA

• ISA = Intelligent Speed Assistance (warning and limiting to road signs / posted limits)
• BSIS = Blind Spot Information System
• MOIS = Moving Off Information System (warns about pedestrians / cyclists etc...)
• ESS = Emergency Stop Signal (flashing brake lights on hard braking)
• DDAW = Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning
• EDR = Black box Electronic Data Recorder

Hi guys, i have a question about firmware update for FICM (MG4 Lux version).
Currently i have SWI68-29958-1300R40 (pretty old version). I was booked for service and my dealer told me that for Lux version in Ukraine the latest firmware is R63, not R67 and firmwares are different for different countries. It sounds weird. Is it true or not?
Does R67 (or R63) for UK and EU are really different for example?

I personally think that's nonsense!

There's no difference between R63 and R67 for Germany/EU; perhaps R67 simply isn't (yet) released for Ukraine.

I would install R67 just because of the fixed Bluetooth bug.

It did however mess up my battery meter. Since R67 My car does not show correct battery level anymore. No idea why but percentage goes down way to slow and it evenes out on the way to the bottom. With a battery level of 85% (without charging to a limit btw - first I though the charge limiter is broken) it takes 4% battery for 22km (one way to my office). If the battery is around 50% it takes 7 to 8% for the same 22km - wich is what it actually uses and allways did.

me too, but i seems have no choose and will get R63 only. in any case it's much better than my current R40

It's strange, do you think that SAIC releases firmwares per country? I thought they do it per region, that's why we have so complex version number that encodes car regions' version (MY22/MY23/MY24 in EU or in Asia/Australia), car variant (Standard, Lux) and release number (aka RXX).

Dealer has updated firmware to R63 but battery charge limit is not controlled anymore. What they forgot to do?
MCU is fresh 68.4.9.0 what could they do wrong?

This a known installation fault with R59/R63. Just go back and get it fixed.
