MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

South end of Lockerbie, heading for the motorway possibly, Camden Grey SE, SG23 reg. Gave him a flash and got a broad smile back😁. Was this you🤔🙂

There has been plenty of sightings of MG4's, but has anybody ever had a reciprocated sighting mentioned on the forum...does that make sense🤔😁

Well I'm headed from Liverpool to Edinburgh tomorrow, setting off approx 10am on 80% charge. Will stop once to charge, stopped worrying too much about where exactly.

I'll wave to any I pass and if anyone sees a grey x power starting PF73 let me know!

I saw a few MG4s over the weekend driving down to my brother's (near Sunderland, but still a Newcastle NE postcode, so he insists 😂) on Friday and back yesterday. No reciprocal waves that I saw though.

Regarding range ... I stopped at the Tesla superchargers at Gretna Gateway but they were all in use. (I'd started on 100% after granny-charging at his house). I looked at the remaining range on the GoM and thought "stuff it, let's give it a go" and continued on my way home. The trip was just over 145 miles and I still had 30 miles left on the GoM when I got home, so a real-world maximum range of about 175 miles full to empty in my SE SR. :)

Be careful you don't cause an accident.

Gretna Gateway has become very popular as a charging venue. I gave it a go a day or two after it went live. It worked fine and was really quick. I did wonder how to stop it charging, and a brand new VW ID something or other and owner was next to me with a perplexed look we chatted about it and I suggested cancelling it in the car, "I never thought of that" he said, and it worked for both of us. I think you can waft the debit/credit card at it as an alternative...but not sure.

How fast were you going on the motorway🤔🙂

Were you the white MG 4 using the Pod Point charging at Tesco, Loudwater on Saturday at around 12.00? I was tempted to pull alongside and charge put mine on charge too as the car park was looking pretty full. I didn't in the end as I'd charged overnight at home, and was able to park anyway on the other side of the car park.

I set my ACC to 65 on the motorway sections, and tweaked the accelerator when necessary to stop numpties boxing me in behind trucks and caravans. On the A69 over from Newcastle I set it to 70 on the basis of using the superchargers at Gretna Gateway. :) There were also slower sections in town, and obviously 60 mph (or less, depending on traffic) on the single carriageway sections of the A69.

I think my average speed was about 45 for the trip back.

That's the same approach I use, give it a quick blast when wagons are overtaking each other or a knot in traffic caused by the same then back to a more sedate 65. I think I read somewhere on the forum that 65mph was the sweet spot as far as aerodynamics are concerned for the MG4. I'm able to get up north in one hop that way as well. Motorway driving doesn't give much opportunity for regen.

From Liverpool to Edinburgh via Gretna services (Applegreen Electric app makes things much easier). All M6 southbound:

Red 10.17 J28
Orange 10.22 J31
Black 10.39 passing Lancaster Uni
White 10.41 just past Lancs Uni
Red 11.32 near Southwaite services
White 12.45 J15 (SA23...)
White 12.47 (_ _24...)

Fancied A701 over the usual A702 so the last one was between here and Edinburgh, approx Rosehill:

Blue 13.54 (SL24...)

IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE?!

PS the weather was so wet and windscreen wiper-y that I only waved at the last one, the others would've been pointless. No wave back boohoo

PPS no green and no grey, although I'm grey if that counts?

I travelled to Gloucester and back today and saw 3, all on the M5, I passed 1 blue SE, 1 Black Trophy and got passed (quickly) by a Grey XPower (I think it was an X Power but it was going that fast it was a blur). I had only seem 1 other MG4 in the previous few days since I had mine

It's a shame the weather wasn't better for your journey over the 'Beef Tub', it's stunning when it's clear. It was awful out and about today, a lot of local routes with local flooding and the Annan and Milk were quite high and no doubt will get higher as the day goes on.

Saw a modified grey MG4 today on Abingdon Road in Didcot.

Think I might have seen it before but they've perhaps added more bits to it.

Different badge, extra light bar at the front and massive spoiler on the back.

If you're on here say hi and post some pics of the car and your enhancements!

We were on foot walking the dog so they would have no idea we were fellow grey MG4 owners.

I stop the charge in the Tesla app, if I remember correctly. Should be quite obvious I think.🤔

Yes you can. I use an Electroverse card and "wafting" works both to start and stop the charge but it works the same with credit/debit cards.

You don't have to have an Octopus account for their Electroverse card.
